Default Ball size

Hi,

I took my fuel test port cap off to measure the fitting size, and have been struggling to get it to seal again.
Checked PET and it shows a steel ball is supposed to be in there, I was careful when I removed the cap and nothing fell out but maybe I'm wrong.
It's cheap to buy the porsche part but adding postage makes it nuts, can anyone tell me what diameter it is as I've probably got one lying around I can just throw in?

Thanks,
Gary

Have you tried a thin coating of Loctite 574 on the ball?

I'm doing the same today but to check pressure and need to go out and purchase a guage. What was the fitting size?

The ball is missing completely, I've managed to seal it temporarily with plumbing gaskets and tape. The thread diameter is 12mm. It seems to be a choice of 12 or 14.

A similar size ball will work, if you can’t find Te exact metric size. I think mine is slightly larger. Seals fine.

whats more important is where is the old ball?
look carefully it would suck to get it into the belt run.
FOD... must always account for every part/ tool /rag/ cover
