Default Hatch latch question

The latch for my hatch on my 85’ is cracked in 3 or 4 places, and is barely holding together. I am surprised that it still holds my hatch closed.
I’ve purchased a “new” latch from 928intl with a key and all. My one concern is that with my car having the factory alarm, and the new latch not having any alarm connections.
Will my cars alarm system freak out if I install the new latch and not have the alarm system connected to anything in the rear?
If I need to, how can I modify the system to not care?

Quite sure you can install a non alarm latch without any problem.

No modification needed AFAIC.

All the "alarm style" hatch latch does is include a switch to arm and disarm the alarm.

You will lose the ability to arm or disarm the alarm from the hatch, but that is all.

The alarm will sound if it is set and you open the hatch without disarming it (from the door).
So you will have to unlock the door before opening the hatch.

But I think you will learn that fairly quickly.
