Default Bench testing throttle positioning sensor

Is it possible to bench test a TPF without specialist equipment? I'd hate to put the car back together and find it needs replacing
Thanks

Just to be sure we are on the same page, you are asking about the TPS, the switch that connects to the Throttle shaft ?
If so it has three wires, center is ground, the other two are Wide Open Throttle and Idle switch.
Look for zero ohms when they each "click" closed, Idle and the other at 3/4 WOT,
Off idle and before WOT they will both be Open

Any oil come out of the switch?

That’s correct Dave that is the TPS I am referring to. The problem is the engine is out of the car which is why I can only bench test it. Sam
