Buzz from the tranny

My car is making a buzzing noise from the auto transmission area. The last time I drove the car it was shifting strong and then it started to drip alot of fluid with tiny bubbles from the drivers side. I don't think the tranny is out, but don't know if I have a vacume leak of is my automatic transmission pump is out. The noise is like a humming sound and can be heard when the car is in park. And when you shift the car in gear nothing happens, no click or clank. I replaced the fluid and the filter (AGAIN) to see if that was the problem and off the rear wheels the the wheels turned very slowly. I need to fully fill the tank. Does anyone have any suggestions or have gone through this before? I want to get it drivable and safe before I sell it.

The bubbles means the fluid is aerate, an incorrect fluid level, high or low, can cause foaming, which affect the operation of the transmission, a plugged Tran’s filter can cause the same problem. The buzzing noise is cavitations of the pumping system; cause by any of the above. Did the pan have dirt and metal in it if not fill the transmission to the correct level Car level, hot running in park, the level should be between the MAX 0 and MIN0.

Noel,
Does the transmission fluid smell burnt if it does maybe you did not do extensive damage. Try filling it to the proper level, and try it with the wheel off the ground.
Good luck.
