We'll miss you, Luc and Grant. And John - we'll give your cap a special blessing. Let's all be thinking good thoughts on Jon's and Andre's cars.

First of our local car hops was last night. Without planning, had the three corvettes parked next to each other: my German corvette, my friend's German mini-corvette (Opel GT) and the genuine American kind. I got engrossed with a new resident in a Crosley two-seater, and neglected to take a photo. Here's a lesson for all of us: the Opel guy was on a ladder getting a box of his grandson's fossils down from a shelf. The box lurched, pushed the ladder, and all came down on the hood and fender of his perfectly restored Opel.

The locals are very interested in attending the 928 Car Show.

I've arranged a tour of Tumblehome Boatshop for those getting here early. Friday at 11:00, just a few miles away. Some very nice boats inside. One of them is owned by someone who has recently added a 928 to his collection of Porsches (including a 356 Speedster). Anyone know a John Kelly? Rueben will let him know of our modest gathering.

If it’s Dr. John Kelly III, then I do. He was head of IBM Reseach when I was there. Nice guy, had a couple meetings with him back then. He’s on the board for the Fund for Lake George.

That's got to be him. I'll see what I can do to get him over here, add a little class to the event. If his 928 ain't running, he can bring his chopped VW.

I'm trying to get the garage/clubhouse cleaned up. But so much crap has accumulated already that I'm having to put in the shelving first. I had these brackets welded up, and the same guy who powder coated my intake did these, too. Stronger than the wall they're bolted to. Like the George Washington Bridge, I can add a lower deck when needed.

A statewide campaign against speeding has begun, but is scheduled to end Wednesday next week, the day before the first day of Camp 928. I'm taking care of everything, you see. Well, not everything - deer are still the main reason to exercise caution.

By any chance, is anyone coming to Camp 928 can bring some R12 refrigerant.
I would need 2 cans.

Thanks.

Still possible to get a room/get in on this? I might just ditch Father's day and drive up. Granted I will have 10W40 oil in the car, so anything could happen.....

I don’t know about rooms - you can check around - but bring a sleeping bag etc and we’ll make you comfortable. Stop at Walmart on the way up and we’ll make your engine comfortable, too. Have filters on hand.

It will be great to have you here.

Hi Curt, I still won't be able to make it this year, still adjusting the ride height before the alignment and it won't get done for this weekend.
Have fun.

Don't loose any sleep over the 10W40 oil, you'll be fine. As "everybody" knows, oil weight selection is climate temp. dependent. So unless you're living/driving in Arizona, N. Mexico, and other southern-most states, you have nothing to worry about.

Looking forward to it! Weather looks to be cooperating, thanks for arranging that.

I may try to meet up at Tumblehome Friday AM, if I can get going from Boston early enough.

2 cans of R12 are riding with me to Camp 928, if you should still need them.

And if any of our fair-weather friends are wondering, it's not too late to say "Screw it, I'm going."

Banner's up. First one here gets a lap around the lake in the Bugeye. Second person gets two laps.
