I will test to see if magnets will stick

I'm in the process of replacing all the interior including carpet and dash from Rob Budd. Once I get the mechanicals sorted, belts, steering rack etc I'm going to sell it but until it's sold this could be fun.

Now I'm wondering if I can find a green adhesive (wrap) for the doors, hood and rear hatch.
If the sunroof is deleted (?) the magnetic lites will stick since the body is steel.

For the vinyl I would simply go to my favorite sign store and have them print and cut the green (or blue, or whatever color) panels to stick on the car.

Then, I think I would use some degree of artistic license in regard to what the panels actually say; since I have a feeling that you might be creating some legal problem putting the word "POLICE" on there. I might say something like "Constabulary" or "Patrol" or "Investigations" or " Detective" or "S.O. Nottingham" or whatever the German word is for Police.

I think "POLIZEI" would be a safer bet as I'm sure the local gendarme would frown upon using "POLICE". My car is silver but I doubt that this would make a huge difference.

Ask them.

Seriously. Call the non-emergency number and see if you can talk to the public affairs officer or something like it.

Depending on local laws, it may be illegal, it may just be 'frowned upon' to have a car that resembles a cop car. It may be illegal to have the lights on it (it's not in WI, but it is in some places).

It's certainly illegal to impersonate a cop, but that isn't your goal.

They may actually get on board with it, depending on their attitude (and yours).

Local to me there is a judge (former DA) who collects antique cop cars. He has several. They show up at shows and in parades.

The lights would be magnetic so only used when parked or at an event. I was not planning on driving around town with them. Also the name Polizei, many may not understand, hence the lack of worldly people here...but wait there is more ...a 928 does not resemble a Crown Vic at least when I last looked. Same gas mileage however.
I would never drive the car with a uniform on..........only an orange jump suit
Great fun an vintage car events...Also I'm restoring this car at a high level which includes a complete new interior including carpet and dash as well as an engine refresh, brakes etc.
Most likely I'll have it repainted after the cop fun wears off or maybe someone will want it this way. Regardless the car will be for sale when finished
