I am thinking if a sand place repaint but what is recommended?

OOps i fixed that. I meant to say " sand blast the old stuff off and start anew". The paint seeems thick and I imagine ticker is not better.

I have just finished the restoration portion of my web site. You can see pics of how my body shop stripped my S4.

You just got the car so I personally would not worry to much about huge jobs like paint. IMHO I would enjoy driving it for a while and use that time to research a good local body shop. Here, references and visits to see other works in progress are the only way to go.
