Default Door mirrors, not working

Hi all, thought I check in with you guys before I start tearing anything apart. Both mirrors aren’t working but there was an audible clicking when trying to adjust either mirror with the remote control. It had been like that for a couple of weeks. When I last waggled the little joystick (hoping for the problem to have fixed itself), the number 9 fuse blew. Does this raise any flags for anyone on what the problem is and course of action?
Thanks

Summary for those in a hurry:
Door mirrors don’t work but make a noise, last time attempted to adjust them, blew a fuse. What’s wrong?

Happened to my car last year, thought it was the joystick, bought a new one.., but turned out it was corrosion in the electrical barrel connector located in the mirror housing, accessed by removing the glass, pulling the connector apart and cleaning the corrosion from the contacts followed by contact cleaner spray.

Were they both working and then both stopped?
If so, I'd go for a new switch or swap the switch w/ known good.

Assuming it's an early model, the click is a solenoid that switches the axis so that's probably working. The fact that both sides failed probably means it's a problem in the switch or joystick.

At this time of year and the weather many have been having, it might be that they both froze at the same time and when they were both tested at the same time they both stripped the rack or pinon on one or the other side of the motor. So they both failed at about the same time.

Thanks for the replies guys. Interesting info there about the solenoid. I’m suspecting it’s the switch also as both mirrors stopped working at the same time (and one of the mirror mechanisms was replaced out not too long ago). Don’t think it froze as it’s not really gotten all that cold here. Curious as to why a fuse blew though.

Default 964 Door mirrors not working in one direction

My door mirrors were only working in one direction, I took the toggle switch apart and the contacts, springs etc. were all corroded.

ordered a new switch and now it works in 3 directions. Any suggestions what’s up?

Can you jump the connections to check if its a faulty new switch or any idea what the 5 connections on the block connector are?
