PAS: Return hose pressure

PAS: Return hose pressure
howzit going folks,
well, i took the day off yesterday, to replace the power steering
hoses.. got them off in an hour and took them down to a hydraulics
place (an hour away). the elfella there, braised new hosetails to
the metalwork and swaged some stupidly inflexible 1200psi hose to
them. i get home, try and fit the pipes, and guess what? the
return banjo is 90 degrees out.
took them back and got him to cut off the hose and re-swage it on
at 90 degrees, get home to find it's now 180 degrees off.
...heh-heh just shoot me, someone, please?
so, just been down to the local plumbing merchants for a 3/8 hose
joiner, but all they could give me is some 3/8 copper pipe.
the question i put to you, is, if i cut the hose midway, and secure
the copper 'joiner' with jubilee clips, will it hold? bearing in
mind this is the RETURN hose, not the HIGH PRESSURE one..
thanks in advance,
