PKsnr alternate tension release question
Hi Guys,
I'm about to tear down the front of my supercharged 16V Ljet, to fix a timing belt that I installed one tooth off on the DS cam. I have a PKsnr, and would like to release the belt tension without removing the center TB cover. I'm not sure I can get to the idler pulley mount to release tension in the usual way, but it looks like I could loosen two of the three tensioner mounting bolts, and let the tensioner pivot in order to release tension. I figure I'd then remove it completely, compress it and then insert a pin before reinstalling. Does anyone with experience with this device have any advice.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

I removed the stock tensioner on my 16v without removing the centre cover, I did clip a corner off to make access to one bolt a little easier.

I have done the swing-away method many times.
When compressing the piston off the car, use a big C-clamp (held in a vise) to push the piston vertically. It will push in a few MM then stop, wait (up to 30 secs cold) then continue pressing until the pin can be inserted.
