Years ago Louie Ott spent a considerable amount of time testing various angles and locations of the X for the most ideal location. What Motorsports produces is that design, which Garrity feels this unit will not be as good.
Since Garrity helps manufacture the Motorsports unit, it's fairly easy for him to tell this is not one of their products.

Nobody said it wouldn't be an increase over stock, just maybe not as good as the Ott design. Are we splitting hairs here? Probably, but it is what it is.

I have no opinion on the matter, just sharing what I do know.

Erik covered it well. Been tested over and over and over again. It's the reason most of us junk these types of X-pipes and install the SLC one.

That's the key word here. Maybe. What do you know about the research and development of the UK Ritech unit? I know nothing myself, for all I know it is pure ****. But I don't know, so I don't talk it up or down. Do the guys that say they junk them have any idea of what they are talking about?

If it makes more power than stock converters than that's not JUNK!

My saying I junk them, I am not calling them junk. I'm tossing them in the trash because there is a better product out there which has proven to have better results. Almost anything is better than 40lbs of factory cat when it comes to some gains, almost. I can't say I've touched a ritech x-pipe as there is typically no stamping on them saying so, but have removed several that look exactly like that one posted above.

And I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about either, but some seem to trust what I do.

Odd, i've only installed 2 w/o cats. Mine have been on my car for the better part of 10 years and has the factory exhaust from the cats back.

That would be a waste of money for just a handful of horsies one'll never ever notice, one way or the other.

I do as I hate having stuff sitting around that will never get used. I did sell one of them to a local but he said he noticed no difference except a loud droning while driving.

I've got the Ritech x-pipe with straight through RMB and it's a beautiful sound.

I think there's a slight drone at 65 which goes by 70. The car feels sharper over 4000 rpm but I didn't study psychoacoustics.

Haven't been under the car for a while so can't definitely id the picture.

Who could tell if they found another 15 bhp?

Interesting as all the cat kits I have fitted went together fine. First set I fitted on my GTS waaaay back had cats with a weld flange and they fitted fine though it was tight - still on the car 12 years later and she passes smog clean as a whistle. The GTS is 25 years old now but I see no reason to remove the cats.
For some years now the cats have been smooth bullet shaped and smaller and fit really well.
Was your experience a long time ago?

that's not a problem I have ever encountered. Not a single time.
