Default Anyone recognize this book?

Found this image in cyberspace...obviously out of a bound book. Shows one of the Audi prototypes, the Opel prototype, W3 in disguise, and later petrol car. Can anyone identify the book?

I recognize it. It might be from Long's book. I'll check when I get home tonight.

Just thumbed through Brian Long's book here at work, that montage is not in it.

Don't recognize it, either. But can't look as everything is boxed-up during the remodeling here.

Two thoughts:

1. The Audi Coupe is the first one, which had the wider fenders and rear quarters instead of being widened in the middle. Or, as some people may say "it had been painted with shrinking paint, and therefore needed to be widened at the wheels".

2. At lest the first three pictures were taken in Weissach. There is no telling, if these vehicles still exist. They may have been crushed like most test mules. Porsche certainly never showed them to the public - at least not to my knowledge.

About 3/4 of the way down on this page from a Dutch Autoweek forum user D. Elzinga posted this same photo in 2010. The caption he wrote underneath translates to:

"New pictures again. The Audi 100 Coupe and Opel Diplomat were mules to test the technology of the Porsche 928. In particular the Audi was considerably broadened to be able to accommodate this technology. At the bottom left a camouflaged 928."

The picture he posts below this one is the top photo of that page of the 928 buck that is also in the Projekt 928 book. I am not sure if he was the genesis of this photo but if you scroll through that page he posts other similar vintage photots in books or magazines that may or may not be the same that has the 928 pictures. Plus you can clearly see the same table used in some of the pictures. My guess is that these are his books and magazines and he was taking digital photos of the pages and uploading then. Looks like at least one publication is called AutoVisie and one is called Autonotizie. Not sure if he is still active but you could always sign up on that forum and try to contact him to get more info.

If it is not apparent, I'm doing some prototype (pre- 9288100011 only) research. I estimate there to be at least 20 cars, I keep finding more as I look. I'd like to find the source of these photos as well:

Nice. Hope he can help you out. That would be cool if he has other publications with early 928 info he can point you towards.
