Default S3 Air Intake Tube Question

On my S3 I don't have any air tubes. Yet. I know they differ from S4, but is it only the strut brace that stops the S4 units being used? If this is the case then perhaps a different style of strut base could be made.....perhaps like a blade / aerofoil shape?
Just thinking. Maybe I shouldn't ..lol

The air intake top is wider with smaller holes so an S4 top won't fit along with the S4 tubes.

The intake is also a different shape meaning the tubes need to be long and narrow compared to the others.

I would just find a set of tubing that is the same as the intake hole size throughout and run it in place of the stock tubes.

I have a spare set of the S3 tubes if anyone wants to buy them. they are in reasonably good shape, and $250 gets the pair.

Merc part number is 117 094 03 82 Around $16 each

Took 4 of them with 2 cut down to fit between the radiator and angled silicone boot.

^ Can you post a pic with the strut brace back on? Do you reckon they offer better airflow than the stock tubes?

This is about the best photo I have on short notice. There's no way these offer more airflow than the stock tubes mainly because the restriction is within the intake header tubes and/or heads themselves.

I sell the Mercedes tube intake sets for all the cars except the 85/86 S3 cars.
Can you tell me more about the silicone tube that you used to join the two Mercedes tubes together?
It would be really good to offer a set for the S3 cars as well.
Thanks,
Roger

Tell your son thank you from the 928 community.
Finally a fix for the S3 intake tubes.
I really appreciate it.
