So I'm having no luck getting the bushing on the ball by itself or the arm on the ball with the bushing in the arm. I have heated the bushing up with a hair dryer hoping it would become pilable enough to go one easier, but no luck.
I just tried leveraging the clutch arm with a pry bar, the clutch disengages but the arm won't go on the ball.
Any tips or tricks?

get a dremel and a small sanding wheel open up the inlet ridges, you dont need much.
Then toss the bushing into a cup of very hot water, let it soak for a few mins,
then put a dab of DC111 into the bushing,
then put it on the ball,
gently pry it on .
The opening of the bushing is made so it wont come off the ball when you remove the release arm.
NOTE the pressure plate should also have the 3 spacers installed to give the release arm that last bit of clearance to fit over the new bushing

the spacers are needed to fit the arm on the bushing, BUT a third hand up top while fitting might also work

Done.
I ended up removing the ball, used the hot water trick and pressed it on. Put the spacers back in (one was all I needed to get the extra clearance), and I got the arm on without much fuss.
Now this car's drive line is done, on to the AC system and cooling system.
