Default "Coolant" warning light question.

Hi,

My "Coolant" light on the dash doesn't come on with the first turn of the key.
All the other lights work and I'm 100% sure the "Coolant" lamp is ok as all the connections and contacts in the dash.
Is it possible to be a bad contact in the sender wires/plug or should I look somewhere else?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

The central warning computer (under the dead pedal) is what turns on the warning lights when you turn the key to the ‘running’ position.

The wiring from the CWC to the coolant blub warning bulb is discrete, so you can test for 12v at any of the connection points.

How do you know the bulb itself is good?

I have the exact problem and my testing concluded the fault is in the central warning unit. I inspected the unit but found nothing obvious, could be a bad solder joint. I left that problem for another day and regularly check the coolant level. You can test the light by unplugging the yellow connector from the central warning unit and grounding pin #1.

I would be curious if someone has fixed this before.

Hi,

Thanks for your anwers!
I'm 100% sure the bulb and connections are ok because the pod as been out and all bulbs replaced and contacts clean. I had a few other bulbs that were also out and now are working but the Coolant warning was intermittent before the pod was out, now it's completely dead! It's the only one that is not lighting.
So I think I'll star with the connections on the CWS...

Thanks again

Regards

There is a procedure in the WSM.

Good luck.
