Default X-Pipe Xmass Special

I know a number of you have been waiting (and waiting, and waiting) for the next batch of SS X-pipes to come out of the factory.
I myself have some customers who having been waiting for theirs since August.

We have just received in stock 10 of our SS Header-X pipes, and we can ship right now (photo below).
I also have 10 sets of 2nd generation headers with merged collectors in raw steel to go with them.

So if you are tired of waiting, and wouldn't mind about another 35 HP, I can take you out of the stainless X-Pipe you are waiting for
and put you into a set of our unpainted merged-collector headers with stainless Header-X and clamps for just a few dollars more - and ship right away!

Here are the numbers:

Normal pricing: SS Header-X with clamps, $580.00; 2nd Gen Headers in raw steel, $868.00 TOTAL 1448.00 plus shipping

All parts are IN STOCK for immediate delivery. Shipping on this order will be $97.50 anywhere in the continental US.

Jet-Hot coating is available for these headers if you want, thats' a $475 upgrade. Or you can just take a can of Hi-Temp spray paint to the headers when you get them and you're good-to-go.

The Header-X will connect right up to either the stock exhaust or the aftermarket Hi Performance Dual Exhaust that we sell.

Here is a picture of the headers and Header-X, connected right to the dual exhaust on a '91 928.

Do you have any information on the difference in HP between the new merged collector headers and the older headers ?

Will these work on a RHD 86.5?

I do not. I have not been presented with a car by a customer in order to do a before-and-after dyno like that.

It would require a 1987-1995 car that currently has the old style headers on it with a single collector so i could take that to the dyno and get a baseline measurement. Then we would have to exchange his headers for our new headers with merged collectors and put the same exhaust system back up and re-test.

The opportunity to perform such a test has never presented itself.

In general, all I can say is the merged collector headers are well thought of industry-wide, and a number of magazines have published before-and-after merged collector tests on small block Chevy's. I'm sure you can GOOGLE it and find some articles about what they are worth in HP gains.

I'll do it.

Get me both sets of headers and the X-pipe. I'll use my automatic 87 for the ultimate test:

1. Stock
2. Stock manifolds with X-pipe
3. Old headers
4. New Headers

I'll pay for the dyno time & have Luke - the tuning guru @ Beyond Redline - go through the maps of each test. I just have to refresh my intake first since my flappy is busted.

103,000 miles, all original - I feel my 87 is a great example of your typical S4 running around.

I'll gladly except donations to help cover the test

Steps 1 & 2 are already happening once I finish my intake.

from what I read It looks like the merged collector could be worth 10HP on a 525 HP motor
What are the results from the header manufacturer ?
I would expect the manufacturer to have done some tests to justify the collector change .
are the merged collectors available as a retro fit ?

That's a nice offer, Eric. I do not know where we could get a set of the Gen 1 headers at this time other than off of somebody's car. The manufacturing fixtures have been modified, so making a new set of Gen 1 standard collector headers would be very difficult.
