Where can I get a copy of my ignition key? I just bought another 928 and there's only one key. Ignition and doors only not the rear hatch. Is it possible for a locksmith to make a key to fit the rear latch? Fortunately the rear hatch has the electric lock so I can access it.

sounds like the pins in the rear hatch are garbage. no way to cut a key to worn keyways. keys4classics can make you some keys. what i ended up doing was having a key ordered from porsche (expensive ya) but i now know its perfect. then i re-keyed all the locks to the new perfect key. if you get a new key cut from a worn key, you will have the exact same issue you have now FYI.

Since you only have one key, your best bet is likely to be the Keys4Classics route. Visit their website, follow the instructions, and have extras. Once you have spares, you can get to work on the hatch lock cylinder to make it work with your keys.
We are ready to start today's group therapy session about the "I just bought another 928..." symptom. "Hi, my name is gomez123, and I have an addiction!" chorus: "Hi gomez, welcome to the group."

It's actually pretty easy to re-key the hatch lock. You can get it to work with your current key.

You can maybe get a key from a dealer (or Roger) with the VIN, based on what key & lock was installed when it was built.
Unless the locks aren't original.
Unless the records are incorrect (it happens).
Lots of folks have had success with the Keys for Classics route. They can cut a key from high quality pics of your current key.
