Default Looking for a GT

Ok, I get that I’m probably looking for a unicorn, but now that my S4 is getting close to being about where I want it. I’m starting to look for my next project, a GT. Any have one for sale? Prefer one with a roached interior, clear coat failure, and deferred maintenance, but I’ll consider others. I’d also be interested in an 89 5-speed. Thanks guys.

I'd actually prefer one that needs work. I brought my 89 S4 back to life, and I loved doing it. But, I know there aren't too many fixer GT's out there, hence the unicorn comment.

You'll likely still have to pay over $25k for one with a roached interior(if u can find). It's probably easier to find a busted GTS, I've seen a few--but all were auto's

A GTS would work as well, but has to be a manual to make me give up my S4. Also didn't figure I could afford a GTS, roached or otherwise. I was hoping to find something south of $20k. I probably missed the boat on both the GT and the GTS, but thought I'd check around.

None to be sure. I made contacts with a few GT/GTS for sale asking for <$20k in the past few months. Although I was the 1st to call and 1st to offer, after a few messages, the sellers realized the car can fetch more and pulled the cars from sales. Good luck and get in line! I have cash burning in my pocket waiting for those unicorns!

Stan: yeah the '90 GT is owned by a master. It's YOU!

I’m starting to make that realization, Hoi. A friend of mine has an 87 manual with 17 option codes (!) that he might be interested in parting ways with. Maybe I should go down that path.

If you want a GT, hold out for a GT- they will never be worth less than they are right now, consider it like a German savings bond. And with the Dow at 24,200, you might consider reallocating some equities into savings bonds. Consider it asset allocation.

I agree with Roger, price can only go up on these...and you get to enjoy. But, the S4 manuals are also great! Looks like even Chris Harris an S4 manual, you can't go wrong!

I had sent Aaron a PM about this but the 90GT Stan's currently working on is mine, and he's tidying up a few things on it before I offer it up for sale.

Not quite ready with pics and all the rest of it but if people are abstractly interested feel free to send me your contact details via PM and I'll get in touch when I have all the proper information, photographs, etc ready to go. As a general note this won't be a fixer-upper, it'll be a fully sorted car (it was Rob Edwards' before I had it, after all) with no stories and no excuses. Triple black, 120k miles, everything important serviced within the past 5-10k miles, several things being serviced right now so they'll be brand new.

Agreed! How dare he respond with exactly what the OP was looking for without paying his dues. Burn him at the stake, I say!

Excuse me if I got your BVD'S in a bunch, didn't think I was breaking any rules, I did not post a for sale add, just responding to a request. I will delete the price so you guys can sleep tonight!

Here's one I came across for sale on Facebook. It looks like it could fit the bill nicely, although may not be as much of a project as you are looking for. No affiliation.
