Red car comes home today!
After 16 months the red car (86.5) comes home today. Picking it up from Greg Brown this afternoon (hopefully). Greg said that last week it breezed thru smog. Greg and Kyle have been driving it for the past week. Not sure yet on the power specs as we were anticipating around 410hp and about 450#'s. Greg says that is does have a bit of oversteer which is fine with me for every car I have every raced had gobs of oversteer. I think I drove the Lotus Cortina more sideways than straight. It was most important to keep the side windows clean. First drive will be up the coast. Pics to come. Wooooo Whooo

Well .... I almost drove it home. There are just a few more tweaks left to do. So far Greg has put about 500 miles on it and there are just a few minor issues left. I had the chance to drive it and it is different than I thought it would be. I drives so much like a normal 32 valve car. It just motors around. Doesn't bark or do anything that you would notice. Clutch is light, the Hans gear linkage is killer. What really happens is that you quickly notice just how much torque there is. An example on the freeway in 4th gear at 40mph you can ease on the throttle and within 3 seconds you see 100mph. Who knows what the top end is or even how much torque it has for at this point it doesn't seem to matter all that much. The LH is from an S4 there is a bit of dialing in. You can see Kyle in the pics with wires running from the engine an the LH and his computer to dial it in. Yesterday there was a very short list of things to do and I needed to get back home. I will fly back to the shop maybe tomorrow or Monday. Greg wanted to put a few more miles on the car just to recheck everything. It was well worth the wait and frustrations.
Ok, what's the deal? When I go to advanced there isn't a box that allows me to post pics....

Van - in the reply area, look for the emoji symbol (the smiley face). Right next to it on the left side is a mountain in a square symbol - click that and follow the prompts - that's where pictures are now.
