Default Project 928 book collector's case

Hey all,

as most of you know, the book "Project 928" as become quite an expensive collectible. I was lucky enough to find one in excellent shape except for the dust jacket that obviously as suffered a long and hard life.

As part of my business, I make collector's cases for DVDs, so I decided to make a protective case for this valuable book.

I laser engraved the artwork from the dust jacket. The case is made of ABS with a brushed gold top layer over an aluminum frame.
The whole thing is sturdy and should protect the book for years to come.

Anyone interested please contact me directly, the price is $40 and shipping will be $7.50 in the US.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

Wow...I must say that is quite an attractive case for this fine text.
Very nice work!

Now, if I only had a copy of the damned "Project 928" book itself
At this point, I'm just NOT willing to pay upwards of $350 for a copy (search www.alibris.com for an idea of availability / pricing). So, I guess will keep my eyes peeled for a slightly soiled, but serviceable, copy. Care to sell your copy, Paul?

and Happy Holidays to All
TUK

Paul what a great Idea!

If anyone could do this with the quality we have come to expect from anything Porsche related it is you and Linda!

Kudos and congrats on the "Jersey Trilogy" DVD case deal!

P.S. I'm in the same boat as most others, maybe some day I will find a nice copy in one of those out of the way used book stores :/

Great story about this new facet of Paul's business (see Max's 'Jersey Trilogy' link above).

Congrats on your continuing success, Paul!

Paul, have you considered photo copying the entire book and putting it on CD? I know that I for one would be more than willing to pay you for your considerable time and effort to get one for myself.

It's something to think about at least.

Hey Lag: although I understand the interest for a "cheaper" alternative, my interest in this book goes beyond the sum of information that it contains. This is the best and probably the only true report of the development of the 928, but it is also a very important collectible and as any other collectible, it's value resides in it's rarety.

I paid $300 for mine, partly because I wanted to read it and know more about how the 928 came to be, but mostly because it is rare, hard to come by and a nice addition to my collection.

Mine arrived today in perfect condition; so well packaged.
The pictures don't show how beautifull it is. Brushed platinum with a gloss coating and raised flat black graphics that feel good to touch.
An extraordinary effort, Thank you Paul.

Amazon has two books for sale, both used one for $220 and another for $290. Doesn't say whether they are in English or not.

No affiliation just FYI.

Paul, if you haven't already, post a link to this topic on the Rennlist email list as well - lots of folks on there who don't regularly stop by here.

De-topping.
