Question on flywheel interchangability
Good morning - researching if I can use the flywheel that is on the '84 on the donor '88 S4 automatic.
I came across this from our very own Danglerb;
Info from 928GT.com
5-Speed 80-83(US & Euro).. 928.102.202.10
5-Speed 84 Porsche........... 928.102.202.11
5-Speed 85-86(84-86 Euro). 928.102.078.01
5-Speed 87-95.................. 928.102.208.03
That suggests there is a difference due to their being different part numbers but I wanted to double check.
Thanks!

Yes, main difference is the absence (80-84) or presence (84/5-95) of a timing ring for the crank position sensor, which were either 100-1 (85-86) or 60-2 tooth rings (87-95).
Also some differences for various timing dowels which AFAIK are never actually used, and the bolthole layout for the pressure plates (6 vs. 9)

Thanks Rob.
Anyone have one taking up space? Will check the usual suspects as well.
