Default Had an exhaust fabed up from scratch.

Local "kid" is an absolutely fantastic welder!
He built it to my specifications and the interesting thing about this is how quiet it is...well...till you mash the go pedal!
I'll get some sound bits soon.

Beautiful work!

It doesn't look like it's a quiet one though. .

How much was it?

It's actually really REALLY tame till you hit the throttle

it looks like terrific craftsmanship, the welds and materials look top shelf.

FWIW we spent a lot of time making the best X pipe configuration at Motosport in SLC Utah. Working with Loui Ott and the local dyno facility,
X placement was critical for max HP, sweet spot found closer to the front of the car.

Best bet put it on a dyno and post your results who knows

My plan was to originally have the X closer to the front of the car but at the last minute, I got scared and added the 2 front resonators. In retrospect, it would probably have been just fine without the last minute resonators. The exhaust is really quiet when you want it and loud when you want it. That could have a lot to do with the final design but I'll never know for sure.

I plan to Dyno but have no idea what a standard auto should make to the wheels.

with a stock S4 and stock cats VS a non cat X pipe we were getting about 25 HP more
Same for the S3

Looks fantastic. Post a video with audio so we can hear it. Are those cats or resonators at the front? What mufflers are those? Are they baffled or straight through? What size pipes are those? Have you experienced any drone?

I recently did my exhaust as well and interested to see how your design matched up.

I had my completely stock 89 S4 auto dynoed back in late 90s on a dynojet and it did 272 hp at the rear wheels. It probably had about 35k miles on it at the time..hope that helps.

Very nice looking exhaust. Do you have stock exhaust manifolds or headers?

If you add an H-pipe, you'll probably be able to knock out a little bit of sound and maybe make a little more torque at some rpms if it's placed just right.

Another thing you can do if it gets too loud for your taste over time is to add a small muffler at the end that combines the exhaust paths right before tips.

Resonators, no cats. This car has ZERO drone. Trust me when I tell you, at part throttle highway cruising, it's nearly dead silent. You have to throttle it to get any sound. Piping is 3"

Thanks for the info, Rob.

Stock manifolds. My plan is to go with Kuhns latest turbo setup. I just couldnt stand how quiet the car was.
