Default 928 AC compressor

Is there a alternative AC compressor that (less expencive) can be used in 1983 opposed to a stock one? I've seen it done before on american muscle cars.

This compressor is nearly identical. You would just need to make a bracket to support the rear

A rebuilt one is like $300 (what I paid) and a new OEM Denso is $350 for the correct part.
