Can I suggest that you re-post your question in the 911/964 forum? There are folks there with much better knowledge of those cars.

The diagnostic methods are the same of course, but the fuses and wiring are specific to each Porsche model and series. The 928 was a ground-up design effort, with a lot of new-technology features that the 911 series received later. A lot of that has to do with electrical system layout, where the modular harnesses and the plug-together car harness assembly methods were adopted.

Jeff - you might want to ask this question in the 964 forum - while some things like measurement techniques are common & generic - actual likely culprits are probably very different...
