Default Drivers door lock requires 2X force to rotate key than drivers side

I felt a pop unlocking the drivers door with the key and then no unlock or lock action with key movement.

I pilled the door panels and door lock and the connecting rod bottom end between the cylinder lock and door lock mechanism had broken.

I had a new connecting rod and got it replaced but noticed when I had it back together that it requires allot of force to rotate the key to get it to unlock and lock. Passenger side requires significantly less effort.

The ignition lock rotated easily when out and the door lock **** rotated easily with the ignition lock out.

I had lubricated the door lock mechanism when I was in there.

Any known issue I should check for? Possibly the vacuum lock / unlock mechanism?

if you had to force the key then you should pull the lock cylinder out to see if the ball portion has a cracked frame,
this is common with old parts and a sticky lock mechanism

Thanks Stan.

I have had to replace one of those before and had 928 INTL re-key two good locks.

When I had the lock assembly out today the pall was intact and worked smoothly with little to no force.

OK then I would suggest to lubricate the latch mechanism inside the door.

NOTE Make sure the door lock surround on the door panel is only screwed in palmhand snug,
over tightening will cause binding.

Also make sure the lock **** is screwed in screwsnug,
it has loctite to keep it in place, over tightening the screw will also cause binding

As always Stan was spot on

I loosened the lock **** self locking nut a tad and loosened the lock surround a tad and lock now works freely.

Thank you Stan for your continual willingness to share your knowledge.
