Hey Lou,

The 911 is burried under snow WAYYY more than your 928. I honestly did some digging to find it this morning.... I'm driving the 928 on the snow...with YOUR wheels and tires... GOD if those wheels and tires were circular soap bars, I would have better traction!!! no wonder everyone complained about 928's in the snow...to my surprise...turns out that using very cheap tires on my 928 is handy in the winter....while everyone else slides around on performance tires...

Tarek you dont have to tell me about the tires, i got stuck in last years storm with the porsche when i broke the hummers axle.

I live for playing in the snow, why do you think I live in Alaska! Nothing better than locking the hubs in and going for a drive with a foot plus on the road.
Currently have 60-80 mph winds driving slush in sidways here. Can't really call that snow!

That's another place I'm happy to be out of (Ft. Drum: Where they send the Alaskan troops for cold weather training.) Compared to that, going back to Chicago was a breeze!

I will note though, I had to scrape the frost off the windows this morning. Got a few strange looks from the neighbors. Wonder if they have never seen what a heavy duty ice scraper looks like...

Sorry to hear about the buried 928s. Luckily - mine is in a garage. Unluckily - because it is waiting for new ignition parts.

Man this weather is horrible. It's only supposed to be 70 today and drop into the mid 50's tonight. Thank God I moved from Cleveland!

What happened to your Wrangler w/ the 36" tires?

We only got 13" for our first snowfal.

I have 4 Jeeps, only one that runs at any given time.

Try diving that 928 backwards, see if acts like a front wheel drive.

We got 2 feet in the White Mountains, not really unusual for us. My cars are put away for the winter, but it took me 4.5 hours to get the farm plowed out on Sunday. I am happy I got the sleds out a couple of weeks ago, turned out I needed one to go collect the deer I bagged in the Orchard right after the storm. Sunday was the last day of hunting season (rifle), so now it is down to business with Tim Murphy's kit and Gretch.......

Well, to those asking what happened to my multipurpose 928....a RICER locked his brakes and ran into the side of my driver side fender...and that was before the snow storm...the NEW powder coated wheel took the brunt of the impact, but no suspension damage that I can see so far...fender is damaged....tire rubs against plastic wheel well shield...what are you gonna do? Bertha still goes though...injured again, but as resilient as ever...she just needs her old no-name tires back for traction...those performance tires might as well be used as snow boards

I just acquired a full size van from the US Navy that needs a little work to run again. So may be Bertha will finally retire and will be babied again. I actually got an estimate for a full body/paint job! I wonder she will maintain her bully street manners after the cosmetic work is done.

Wrangler is sold....been gone for a while now...not that it was good in snow...Super Swampers make it float and ends up sliding around more...wish I kept it though...a few more inches of lift and I would park one of the Porsches under it

Last year I saw a moose running down Spenard in Anchorage with Christmas lights rapped around his spoons. Wish I had a camera!

Mom and Dad both in their 70's decided to move NORTH to Lake Chautaque from Oil City, PA , bought a 42 footer as well. I guess they wanted the Lake Effect squeeze from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Not satisfied with mere lake front property, they built a new home on the north western side of Bemus Point -the only major peninsula on the lake.
Needless to say.... They are constantly harping, "Why don't you come up for Thanksgiving and Chrismas?", Love em' to death but I'd need a mid-sixties, OSH-KOSH - with a monster plow - were I to make the attempt
That area makes Buffalo seem like a winter escape resort.
God! I miss stubbing my frozen toes on a coffee table/couch leg... Taking that first - and last- deep deep breath and having my front teeth freeze and turn translucent. And who can forget : after digging thru three layers of clothes discovering that Mr. Winkie has shrunk ... somewhat ... was positive I had been circumcised at birth ... Hhummmm?... and is evading those freezing cold hands (hand me the tweezers, will ya'?).
Park the sHARKs, folks. We lost a lot of German metal - from the post's -this last year no sense adding to the list.
