Female connector can be re-used, hold with needle nose, heat, sling the solder towards the ground.
Maybe your SoCal car wont have corrosion all up and down those wires, beneath the insulation, usually associated with our east coast / mid west rained-on cars.

Thanks gentlemen. Got it reconnected, confirmed with a post from Alan that the one that broke was indeed for the starter relay.
Wiring looked good inside.
Connected it all back up and it spins and the interior accessories are happier. No wimpy/variable dinging alarms anymore, they are forceful dinging alarms now. Grin.
No spark, still no power to 87/87 on the AFC relay socket, and still only 11volts and change on 85.
Oh well.

To try and be more helpful I think I had two issues in hindsight;
#1) intermittent faulty grounds in the harness
#2) fuel flow issues that I didn't properly take care of
#1) I got past with help from 928Intl and lots of coaching from the people here
#2) this I screwed up, I wasn't thinking systematically enough and I am nearly certain I had fuel flow issues in the lines that I didn't resolve that explains the issues I had.

I would encourage you to start a new topic and have as much diagnostic information on hand as possible when you post. Please feel free to message me as well, with the help of the people here I learned quite a bit during this whole process and would very much like to help someone out as I received help from the community.

It’s actually an 89 964C4 and my bud r-mm is posting away like a busy beaver on that forum here on Rennlist and is receiving much guidance.
I found this thread with you 928 guys via a google search of noid lights/ Bosch injection as I sought to better understand his car’s condition. I realize his car is Motronic, but am also refreshing my own L-Jet knowledge because I’m currently working to bring an ‘87 924S back from 13 years off the road.
much appreciated, John
