Default Hall sensor short to ground

I plugged in a Bosch Hammer today in preparation for performing an actual Idle Adaption and the EZ-K reported a ground short fault in the Hall sender. I have tested the wiring from the EZ-K plug out to the plug on the wiring harness both to body ground and for shorting wire to wire. All checks good. The Hall sensor was replaced about 5 years ago during my first timing belt/cam gear refresh as a WYAIT item. I measured the pins on the sensor and have about 3.5 meg-ohms from the shield to each of the signal wires. I kept my old sensor from 5 years ago and it tests the same. I get no continuity from any of the sensor pins to chassis ground or on the sensor body of the old on in my spares bin.

Does anyone know the proper resistance readings of the Hall sensor? Could I have a failed/shorted EZ-K?

The EZK does not check the Hall sensor electrically. A 2134 code could be from being shorted, unplugged, too far from the reluctor, etc. (The EZK checks programatically if a counter is updated by the on-off state of the sensor.)

The sensor gets voltage (hall#2/EZK#5) and ground (#3/#4) from from the EZK and outputs (#1/#22). AFAIK, to check the sensor properly you need an oscilloscope.

Understood. I thought the KTS 300 was doing an actual electrical test of the circuit. I'll check continuity through each conductor from the EZ-K 40-pin out to the Hall sender femail plug.

Thanks

This-^

check all three from the EZ-K pins.
