Hi,
Nick - what brand and viscosity of synthetic oil did you use?

I have just come back from NZ - Dunedin was about as cold as London!
Snow, sleet, hail and rain during the five days there - I could never return to live. Where did you live?

Regards

hi doug,
are you back in arlie beach? im from auckland originaly although ive spent some time in the provinces including dunedin and further south. what you want to do is head to queenstown and go snowboarding, next time!

the oil brand was 'comma' but dont slate me for putting this in my 928, it was all i could find here in great yarmouth! the viscosity was 75-90 GL5.

I also noticed some cold weather problems with the tranny and have been looking for the Castrol Synthetic Dextron 111 but have been unable to find it here in the NYC area. If anyone comes across it please post where you found it.

Hi,
Great Yarmouth on the coast ! - well at least the correct spec. oil has worked and thats what matters in the end

OT - Love Auckland - I was born in Dunedin, and have two sons in NZ ( Blenheim & Dunedin ) both are Avionics Engineers and one an MD as well. Lived in Queenstown for a while - great skiing! One son spends some time on Guernsey each year certifying a certain type ? of "island hopping" aircraft and he was in the Antartic last year for six months

In the 1960's I worked with BECHTEL on the Manapouri project ( Monowai & Deep Cove )and we sure learned a lot about cold shifting problems in the Southern Alps with two metres of snow and Antartic blizzard "white outs" regularly included!

Back in Airlie Beach now thank goodness!

Regards

Hi,
Doug98 - Castrol's synthetic "Transmax Z" is their correct ATF for our cars.

The name is that used around the world and perhaps the Castrol-BP Techs near you can give you the NA "branding" for this product

It is worth a try - many of us use it here in OZ with great results ( hot and cold )

Regards
