First I heard of it, I should lurk more often......
I think that could be arranged?
Hopefully, my work schedule won't screw it up------again!!!

It would be nice to hear more from other 944 folks planning on participating. As decided earlier, this is a 944-inspired event, with everyone welcome. Looks like there will be a strong representation from the 928 folks. IMHO, the 928 is a beast to drive on the straightaways and ascents. Power corrupts. On descents the bigger brakes allow for control, and the Weissach axle makes you feel like your a skier canting your skis. However, let me say this: the 944, with its shorter wheelbase, great suspension, and 50-50 dist. (like the 928), is very nimble on the curves, especially short curves like on Tuna Cyn. Incidentally, on an old Road and Track article (mid-80s), it hailed the 944 as the best handling car in America, beating the 928S, 911Sc, Corvette, Supra, etc. Manual transmission also makes it a lot of fun. (I have no manual 928. Looking for a special one in a few years...my Porsche Holy Grail, a 928GTS, Red, 5 speed, nothing less. They are so hard to find I wonder if I'll find one ever.)
As we get closer to the event I'll ask for a final headcount, so I can call Neptune's Net to let them know, for parking. I don't think I can reserve spots, I can only alert them to the fact we're arriving.
One thing for certain, we'll raise many eyebrows (many of them bikers) at the Net.

Well Bernie,
The genesis of this fun run happened when I was looking at the 924/944/968 site for tips for my 944. Saw that they were trying to start a fun run, the Eyal recommended the Malibu area. I jumped in, as SoCal928 just had a run Nov. 23rd; used the S4. I asked them if they wanted a pure 944 event, or if it was an open drive. Eyal had a poll for the venue and the LA area won. I offered my services as I am very familiar with these roads, actually using them for work. All details etc. at the 944 site.
As I may be leading the run, and having worked with our 944 brethren, I'll be using the black turbo, but I warned them, we 928ers are fanatics, and will be represented.
Were you at the Sharktoberfest run?

Dec 20 Fun Ride
Bernie,
Looking forward to seeing you Dec. 20. My first 928 was almost an '85, and I loved those DOHC engines. The one I looked at was a POS though, so I got the 16v '82. What speed were you going at 35,000 ft.?
