16V Homemade Intercooled Supercharger
It's in Morgan Hill, CA (San Jose).
"We have here a supercharger system for a 16 valve Porsche 928 engine. This system is pretty much a turnkey system, other than maybe having to make/buy one pulley for the crankshaft. As you can see, tgere are multiple pulley systems provided, including Multi groove serpentine belt as well as cog belt.
I purchased this system from a gentleman who had it running on his 928. He manufactured and machined all the parts you see here that make it fit on the 928. The supercharger itself is a MAGNACHARGER unit and is good for any engine up to 5.7 litres. The pulleys are factory pulleys. The plenum and intercooler are home machines, as are all the various mounting brackets. The supercharger turns freely and does not have any play that I can measure. It is in a like new condition.
Unfortunately, I sold my 928 prior to having the chance to install this system, so cannot tell you any more than I have above. The last time I spoke with the gentleman I purchased the system from, he agreed to share any of his information with whoever buys the system. SInce that was over 6 months ago, I cannot guarantee that is still the case, but I am pretty sure it is."

Right here Porken!
I think I've found my long lost brother! As the story goes, he is supposed to be a little older than me and only have 2 valves. He always thought he was too cool for jack stands. Then he suffered amnesia and possible brain damage when the car fell and the starter motor mashed his head against the floor. They got him from underneath the car and he wandered away repeating "must put positive displacement blower on 928". No one ever saw him again. I have been searching for him and was hoping carying out his dream of supercharging the 928 would bring him home. It looks like it might. (tears of joy)
Well this goes to show you never can tell what's out there. I wonder if he has ever really had it running. It's a shame he didn't decide to go with an Eaton or Whipple.
I seriously doubt the "intercooler" does much cooling. It wouldn't be to hard to fit a real IC core to it though.
If any one is planning on buying it I would say plan on spending at least $1500 to get it operational. It will need: a crank pulley, Quick Carl asks ~$500, FAST asks ~$600. fuel regulator $100-200, air box, air filter and plumbing, relocate throttle linkage, belts, some type of tensioner.
I bet it will sell. About a year ago there was an old school roots setup about as complete as this one on ebay. It stuck out of the hoodand had suck through injectors, so it wouldn't work with stock fuel mgt. There was heavy bidding. It sold for over $1600. The person that bought it is a Rennlister. They have yet to install it, and have said that they are waiting for one of my systems.

Well aint that too cool for school!
Like Andy said, amazing what pops up on here now and then.
A+ for originality!
I tell ya what though guys, with one of Andys Whipples i bet youd have a pretty good set up in the end!
With the smaller size of the whipple (looks like it atleast) you may be able to get a better intercooler on the top ...
The hood clearance with the set up shown is a defintie question. A Whipple may help that.
Should be intresting!

Porken,
I don't know but you can not get a reversed Whipple.
With the blower in the auction I think the seller just put the snout on the wrong side. If you aligned the drive shaft with the other rotor/gear then it would spin correctly.
With it being disassembled and knowing what all it takes to make it happen I have to bevlieve that thing has never been run on a 928.
BerNard94,
I'm glad somebody came out and said it. LMAO

I have no idea what that stuff is?
Can somebody spell out to the non-educated 928 super charger person like myself some factiods about those parts.
How much more HP would you get?
What are the pro & cons of getting this type of system?
How do you get parts if something blows?
