1983 928 timing

I have a 1983 928 I bought that didn't have a timing belt installed.how do I set the crank and the 2 cams so I can put a new belt on?thanks for any wisdom on this!

Beg/borrow/buy flywheel lock, belt tension tool by Kempf, a few parts. Apart from dealing with a broken water pump bolt, I got this all done in 2 days, my first Porsche ever.

It can be assumed non interference unless heads have been shaved which is unlikely.
The cam gears have a tiny notch facing the engine. The aluminum backing plates, mickey mouse ears, have a corresponding pointer. Roll each cam to match the marks. Turn crank counterclockwise to OIT mark, ie, top dead center. String the belt.
More importantly, why did the belt break? The belt pathway must be perfect, pivot bolt for tensioner must not be bent, water pump must have perfect seal/bearing, gears can't be worn.....
