Interior light relations?
I know this subject has been broached before, but I request your indulgence.
In my quest to lighten and simplify my 928, I removed the electric hatch release and replaced it with a simple keyed unit. I suspect the elimination of the associated switch (and its circuit) has caused my door lights to not work properly. Knowing that the red is hot, I figure it should be on the single side terminal with the switched and constant ground on the other end of the light housing terminals (pair). I can only get my door lights to work manually with the red hot on one of the paired terminals and the constant ground on the single side terminal. What am I missing?

The light switch is on the bottom of the hatch receiver two wires brown and brown with white dash....the motor connections for hatch release have NOTHING to do with the lights....

You have it correct. So the Brown/white wire is the switched ground, it is driven by the door pin switches and the hatch pin switch directly. Check the pin switches

Thanks for the info. The hatch switch is good (the hatch light and rear headliner light work as they should in both positions. The door pin switches are new. The problem must be a broken wire..

I forgot that the LED's were oriented relative to current. Flipped them around and all the lights work as they should. Happiness and great German engineering.

Can save much time to talk about all recent changes made preceding any new issue - especially but not limited to such non-stock configurations.

I'll check those out, THANKS! Do I need resistors (or anything else) such as suggested by the site?
Just replaced the H4 headlights with LEDs and I am totally sold on LEDs now lol!! I just need to figure out what to do about the foglights/parking lights now, have anhy hints? Not to go off topic :-P

Hey wait -- this is great!! But one more question -- are there drop-in LEDs for all the exterior running lights/brake lights/reverse etc. as well? Is there a thread or a chart that lists everything? Might as well go whole hog here...!!
