S4 crank pulley on an S
Here's the problem I'm having since I upgraded my old viscous clutch radiator fan to the electric S4 fans... The power steering belt now comes too close to the lower radiator hose (I'm using the S4 type lower hose) to the point where I've cut my lower hose with the power steering belt. I noticed that the S4 has a different crank pulley so that the alternator is the outermost belt and the power steering belt is the next belt (moving towards the engine). Can I replace my current crank pulley and power steering/alternator bracket so I can run with the same belt order as the S4? Anybody else have this problem? Thanks in advance!

Paul,
I don't think your problem is from the crank pulley. To the best of my knowledge, the crank pulley is the same for all 928s. I believe that if you upgrade to S4 Power Steering pump and Alternator (with brackets), you will have essentially an S4 setup and adequate clearance between belts and hoses.
This is based on information from the PO of my '84, who upgraded everything up front to S4. Someone else will have to confirm this

Tarek - Thanks for the reply. I thought the same thing until I tool a peak at a few S4 engines. The S4 belt assessory arrangement is different than the S. I removed my AC and radiator fan belts (along with the associated components) and am only driving the alternator and power steering from the crank pulley. It seemed to me that that I might only need the S4 brackets and crank pulley to re-arrange the order of the belts. If I need to change out the power steering pump to an S4 unit then I think I'll try something else first.
