I just got done putting center console back in after diaphragm rebuild and my windows work with the key off and relay is very hot to touch.I went back in and checked all wires and there good.is there a ground I'm missing or bad relay?

 

My '83 Euro has 'Live' window switches too....but my relay doesn't heat up.. I vote: bad relay..

 

Don't know about other years, but it is a normal function of the Windows to go up or down after the ignition key is in the off position, but only if doors have not been opened prior. (MY '85)

 

If your door pin switches don't work the relay will stay active. ROW cars have live switches when the doors are open (not otherwise - when things are working right).
