Since springs have been swapped be sure to check the top end ... Strut mounts and strut nut...they can work loose especially if someone's been in there already.

I have 94 GTS with a similar problem. After replacing the upper A-arm bushings I hoped the problem was solved...but after a round trip on 2000km from Norway to Nurburgring in Germany this weekend, the knock (bang) sound is still there. It can be experienced both at high speeds on highways with sharp turns and ie. in parking lots at low speeds.
I can feel a small play if you hold on the top of the front tires and really rug the tire in and out. Do you have the similar experience or are the front tires without any play, like the back tires?
It will be interesting to see what you eventual will find as the root cause.

Changed the steering rack bushings (that were completely shot) to alu and retorqued the front end yesterday.
Edit: Took the car out for a drive after changing the steering rack bushings and retorquing, it seems much more firm in the steering and the knock sound is for now gone. I drove for about 30km on local roads with a lot of pot holes and speed bumps in addition to a short strech on the highway. I also provocted it a lot with hard turns etc.
I am not 100% sure it is gone as it often take some time for the suspension components to "heat up" during driving. But I am hoping.....
Still some vertical play in the front wheel bearings though. Have ordered new front bearings and will change both sides during this weekend. Will report back.
