Recently I took out the instrument pod to replace one of the three 12v 3w bulbs that backlight the guages, I hate removing that pod however I managed to fit a bulb without too much grief. That was 4 weeks ago, I noticed today that that same new bulb is not working again, I dont want to replace it again untill I know why it keep's blowing, can anyone advise please.
I'm seriously thinking about sourcing some kind of miniature lamp pod to mount in front of the glass to light up the instruments and hard wire it into an ignition live feed so as to switch on each time with the ignition.., as when they do work I could probably see more light with a candle. Maybe I should use one .....![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
Any help/advice much appreciated

Nothing can cause them to blow except excess voltage - then other things would likely blow first.
Are you sure the bulbs you took out were blown? maybe it was just a connection issue and inserting new ones cleaned it up for a while... that's what I'd be expecting to find - do some good cleaning of the attachment points.

Four years ago I did an RnR on the pod when I fitted a new odo wheel from Roger, do you think it will need another clean ?.., car's hardly done anything since.
Thank's
