Question Sebring 924

In the little (cow) town that I live in, there is a red 924 with 'Sebring 79' graphic on the rear lid.
Parked in front of a barn, actually looks to be driven occasionally.

Was this a 924 variant offered by the factory?
Just curious.

yes it was. it was in celebration of porsche winning sebring. not the fastest cars, but kinda scarce if not rare by now. i had one.

there's one on ebay. cheap too, like 3g

I know a guy selling a 924 Sebring driven everday. Has some rust, mainly the nosepanel.

He's selling it for 2k.
