Hi!
I don't know how many of you have seen my thread on the water cooled area, therefore I am copying my "ad" and posting it here too.
My name is Patrick and I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
About a year ago I really wanted clear front indicators for my 1979 931, I felt that the orange lenses made the car look at least 10 years older than it felt.
I looked everywhere. I even contacted Hella in Germany, but noone was producing these. Therefore I decided to start my own production!
Now I am selling these lenses, made for the 924 and 944 n/a.
So far I have not really advertized them abroad, as I was not sure how to handle payment. At the moment I am waiting for an answer from PayPal where they give me the cost of exchanging and transfering money.
I have pictures of cars with the lenses on:
<a href="http://medlem.spray.se/p931/white" target="_blank">http://medlem.spray.se/p931/white</a>
Price: 720SEK, which at the moment is about $ 80. Shipping is about $ 5.

Dennis,
I think you can buy the orange bulbs at about any autoparts store. If you look real close at the blue 944, it looks like it has colored bulbs, but i might be seeing things.

FYI, DOT requires the front turnsignals to light up colored within a certain band of amber/yellow. So as long as you put in a bulb that lights up amber you are OK in the light output requirement.
The problem in the US is I think there is also a requirement that amber color be present in some fashion in the reflector/lens when unlit. I haven't bothered to find out exactly what the requirements are, but it is likely the reason you see new cars with clear lens assemblies not only use an amber light producing bulb but also have a portion of the reflector around the bulb colored amber.
From a practical standpoint, I don't think you would ever have any problems from cops if you had clear lenses and an amber light producing bulb.

Correct; keep in mind also that the side reflector requirement is still met by the stock 924 or 944 side markers.

But if you are going to do this correctly from a fashion sense you would want the front side markers clear/silver also.
I have a 951 with the long dual fog/driving light. My car is black so the effects may be rather more dramatic than other colors, but the look is rather stunning (good stunning) when all the forward lights are clear/silver.
