How absolute are you on the part numbers? I have a distributor that I know came from a late 82 924 NA parts car years ago but the part number on it is

JGFU<------4
0 237 003 001

I can not find the Porsche part number.

It does have the Hall type system and not points like the older ones.

If you can use it let me know.

Well, I'm not sure if one from an 82 will work...yours is the second indication that the part numbers are different from the 81. I have confirmed from three independent sources that the part numbers I listed are consistent for US NAs, so I would prefer to find one that matches. Thanks for the offer...if I can't find an 81, I may take you up on it.

Doesn't seem to me like it really should matter all that much - in fact, why do you even need to replace it? Not exactly a wear item, really - only used to distribute the spark, all timing, etc., is done from the crank from '81-onward... or are you dealing with an '80 titled as an '81?

I need to replace it because Paeco lost it

I sent it in to be rebuilt because there was a lot of play in the shaft as well as a vacuum leak. Now I'm missing a distributor.

If I don't find the exact one soon, NEMESIS, I may take you up on your offer. However, none of the older ones will work because the electrical connector has a different pin configuration.

The other alternative is to go DIS. Cost for a pre-built Megajolt box, plus an EDIS setup off of eBay is about $220, not including needing to get the trigger wheel tack welded to the crank pulley.

Electrical connector? Then it sounds like you do have the '80-style dizzy? I'd have to check, but I don't think either of mine even have any connections except for the high-tension leads...

Onna these days I'm going to get around to trying a Megajolt/MS system, on my '81, but have to do a lot of work before I get to that point... Might have to stop racing next year just to have time and resources to finally get to it...
