I am running the same as MikeV on my Wife's '88 924S without any rubbing. I also have D90 rims on my 924 as well. Best wishes - Jay

I have 225/60/15's all around on my 81 931, but I think it rubs when I turn the wheel sharply I can hear it go "ponnngg" on the spring?
I'm gonna go 225/50 or /45 in the summer time here, I don't like the all-season-ish tires I have now..

I have used 15" rims with 205/55 Eagle f1 on them. It's a bit smaller in diam, than stock (205/60 R15) but gives better acceleration and more solid feel.
In summer I use 18" turbo twist style wheels with 225/40 ZR18 rubber, they'll fit, but in front you'll need 52mm (new style) offset and maximum of 8" wide rim.
Best compromize between looks/cost/feel would be 16" Cup wheels with 205/50 tyres. I know, stock is 205/55 R16 but that wouldn't look as nice plus the speedo won't show exact numbers even with stock size tyres.

I have several sets of 928 "Flats" for my 924S track car. They're cheap (928 guys don't like 'em), they're forged (so they're really strong), and they're the best deal going in used Porsche parts. I know that the stock 928S4 tires work fine on my car - I think they're 225/45-16 front and 245/40-16 rear. No real modification to the body is necessary, although you need to squeeze the rolled-over part of the wheel well at the top ever so slightly (stick a sliced piece of garden hose on the rim of the wheel well and squeeze it with really big pliers until you're happy with the finished product).

A minor correction on my previous post: I don't use the standard 928S4 tire size on the rear, rather, I use the same size tire on the rear as the front - this is more for cost efficiency so that I can rotate tires around on the car as they wear (track tires are expensive). BTW, I can actualy fit the 16 x 8 wheels on the front if I don't use the spacers - it makes the car a little "tail happy" though.

Specifically anyone run with 4 215x60x15 cookie cutters with a 7" width without any rubbing on the track/autocross ? - (without any modifications ) ? This is a very stock suspension 924S. TIA.

As I posted in another couple of threads, I ran as set of Hoosier Radial RS street tires, 205/55 16 front and 225/50 16 rear on D90s with no rubbing issues whatsoever for a few years. This past spring I mounted a set of 225/50 16 Avon Tech M500s on a set of late offset Phonedials from a 951 and low and behold I am getting just the slightest rubbing on the outer fender lip on the rear now. Not too surprised about any rubbing on the front, but the rubbing in the rear really caught me off guard. Just shows that from brand to brand and model to model even that tire stated width and tire actual width are not consistant.
I don't get any spring rub on the front because I am using a Ground Control ARHK sleeves and springs.
