Default Newbie looking for a 924 S

I currently own a 1981 928S and am interested in a either a 924 turbo or 924 S and was wondering what people recommend regarding one model over another, what model years are best and what to look for or look out for (and PPI issues). TIA Andrew

The best 931 would be the 82 model. However, I would recommend the 88 924S as the best of the bunch. The 88 has 11 hp more than the 87, and I beleive the torque difference is about the same. Other than the engine the 87 and 88 should be identical (or close enough). 931's tend to be a little pricier to repair than the S, but once sorted out they are a fun car to drive. Good luck with the search. Its better to buy a car that you know has been mechanically maintained than the one that has been cosmetically maintained. A new clutch can set you back about the same as a new paint job.

I have a 924S and love it not to mention most of the suspension upgrades for the 944 are availible for the 924s and engine and drivetrain parts are easy to come by and by most acounts more reliable then the audi sourced engine and drivetrain.
