hi guys,
my brother in laws 83 n/a 944 has a leaking/blown head gasket ( he says there is white gunge in the coolant tank ) anyway, he wants to know how many hours work it would take by an average mechanic to replace the head gasket?????? he needs to have an idea so he wont get ripped off.....thanks guys

Are you sure it'a a head gasket?? Check out the oil cooler there know to leak and put oil in the coolant tank? To answer your question the head gasket replace will take about 8 hours to 10 if there are frozen bolts and other unforseen problems. Best of luck
