Yes cliff the wheels will fit. And the current front tires on your rims(225's) could just be swapped to the rear rims...well as long as they are in good shape. that way your bud would only need to buy two new tires(205's).

Also if you dont plan to keep the rear tires for anything keep them and see is some lucky local rennlister wants them. Always the nice thing to do

Cliff,

The wheels will fit, no problem. Those sizes are the best combination for these cars. The tires might fit, as noted, mostly depending on alignment. It's worth trying them with the existing tires to see if it works.

I have been running 225/50/16's on 7" wheels on the front and 245/45/16's on 8" wheels on the rear for years, with a number of different suspension/alignments (including pretty aggressive lowering), and haven't had any problems. You can stuff a surprising amount of rubber under those fenders.

One other thing i'd like to say about this is the wheel size(ie 7,8 inches etc) is a big issue. I have learned this the hard way on my 924S, i had 7.5'' wheels on the front of my 924S with 205 tires and they rubbed the outer lip with the proper offset. So i had thought that this tire size was too wide for the front. Then i threw on some factory 15x6 phone dials with 205's on them and they fit just fine!

So i guess my point is that not only does the tire width factor in to this but also the wheel width. You can fit a narrower wheel with a bigger tire is what ive found out. At least thats my experience...there isnt a ton of room in the front wheel well of a 924.

Goodluck! Hope this makes some sense.
