I love my 924
It's a tank! I haven't started it since before Thanksgiving and she fired right up today. It took a while to warm up but it ran truoble free after a few minutes. I never drive it except around the neighborhood since it has no tags right now. This car amazes me. It is also quite fun to drive compared to the S2...so much more involved. Anyway just thought I'd share my enthusiasm for the 924s. Lets hear some more!

I like the 924 also, although I have a 944 turbo , The lines on the 924 are smoother and refined. I saw a 1979 924 turbo for sale with low mile supposedly very good condition asking only $5500, sounds like a bargain, seems like most people do not know a good car or these cars would be selling for a lot more!!

After 17 years and 200+K miles of driving a 924, I sold it in favor of my 928's. Less than a year later I wanted another 924. Don't get me wrong. The 928 is a dream to drive. Lots of low end torque, great handling and extremely stable on long drives. There is something different about the 924. I know lighter weight is one factor but there is something else. Anyone have any ideas?
Guess I'll just have to put up with both.

emoore924, I see you have the GTR front flairs but cant see any back flairs what is up with that?
I have a 78 and it is a blast to drive as well I love it, it is easier to fling it around than the 928 that is what you love about it dennis, looser more rally style suspension

I think the difference in seating position and ride height makes the 924 feel more sporty. In the 924 you're practically sitting on the ground. I feel like I'm sitting too high and too upright in the 928 after driving the 924.

they're there
Oh, don't worry, the rear flares are there. Ya just can't see 'em in that pic. This pic is a little better, but pictures don't do it justice. It is w-i-d-e. You really have to see the car in person to achieve the full affect.

It is a 1980 924 turbo that has a fiberglass Holbert Racing "superwide" body kit on it. The fenders are 2" wider at each corner than a 944, both front and rear. These were done in the late 80's by Holbert's race shop either for race or street.

I like my 924S a lot too! Even though one day i'd like to have a 951/968 i still would like to hold on to my 924S. I can never get over the way it drives, this past summer i had an hour+ commute every morning to work and i always enjoyed the ride!

well, my 924 hadnt been washed in months cause of the freezing weather and it was a ratty parts car to begin with
the other day all the snow melted so i just went through a quick car wash (i usually wash by hand but still too cold for that)..then today i bought some cleaners for the interior and what was one of the worst looking interiors, and i thought would never be clean, looks as clean as my 944 (although its still really torn up)
and even though my suspension is uber-soft/worn out, you can feel that its a bit lighter then the 944
to shorten up the story a bit: i love mine too, but it has so many mechincal and cosmetic problems that i cant afford to maintain it..whereas my 944 is theoretically more expensive and ive been able to keep it in good shape (cept it developed a trillion oil leaks over the winter....which makes me very scared)
anyways, ive been wanting to sell my 924 for a while to make way for some 944 suspension mods...now that its clean, i dont wanna sell it as bad, but its also gonna be easier to sell now and prolly go for more $
i dont know what to do...so ive decided to make it cleaner and further complicate the matter

Then put some Bilsteins on it, so it'll ride and handle well, and you enjoy it again!
