i have a 951 that is in the process of being restored, it had an engine fire and was stored in a garage for the last ten years. it only has 43k miles on it, buyt thats beside the point
my uncle has a 924 turbo that he's willing to sell me very cheap, because it needs trans work. and i dont mind getting my hands dirty as seen with the 951.
anyways, this 924 turbo can be running with very little work, and i was wondering if theres anything that can make it perform anywhere near a 951. and if so what are the mods.
Sure is! Add an IC and reduce weight. If you really want to go crazy, a new modern engine management system to run it harder. Oh, yeah, with plumbing and sheetmetal work a 951 IC can be made to fit in the nose - mimicing the 924GTS. Come over to the Dark Side of cheap thrills, play with us.
Side note - is it a 1980? May be easiest to swap in a 944 trans than repair that trans (dogleg first gear). Info on all that at 924.org.
