Nit-picking is what this board is all about. No problem. I can only partially agree with your points however. All Porsche options have codes. The 345 horsepower enhancement kit for the non-turbo is technically the "X-51" option I believe. I used "X-50" because I thought it would get the point across better, but I agree that X-50 is technically the name for the power kit on the turbo. As for his car possibly being ineligible for the kit, I think logic dictates that you consider the worst case when considering a $2000 drag race, and I think all agree the car "might" have 345 horsepower (or more from the aftermarket). Also, I suspect (but cannot confirm) that the only US cars ineligible for the kit are the 40th anniversary editions, which come stock with 345 horsepower. As for "what's the deal" with racing for $2000, I'd point out that unregulated gambling is illegal virtually everywhere in the U.S. , as is street racing.
