Big Red Group Buy?

The Turbo 3.6 rotors are solid right?
and the 993 are two piece? Correct me if i'm wrong... so the reason to go with the 993 rotor would be weight?
So your total with the same parts is 1060 dollars, a touch above our starting price...
We will be able to place the order in many variations.... Up to the buyer, I'll have a full price list once I know what people are looking for, if it turns out that this deal is no better than going at it alone, then the deal won't be done. With quanity we normally get better prices, so thats what i'm hoping for here.

Yes the 3.6 turbo rotors are one piece and the 993TT rotors are two piece. The weight difference is about 1lb per rotor. So not a whole lot.
Also, someone should ask tom pultz but I believe the 993tt rotors have a slightly different offset so you would need to get different rotor hats. Whenever you have to change rotors, you'll need to transfer those hats, risk breaking bolts, etc. Whereas the 3.6t rotors bolt right up.
Long story short, it's a lot of hassle to go with the 993TT rotors for a 2lb savings in weight.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer that unsprung weight is the worst kind of weight but for the effort required to go with 993TT rotors, it's my humble opinion that it's not worth it.
Someone should verify my weights though. I'm pulling those out of memory and I'm sure I'm off. I am sure, however, that it's nothing like a 5 lb savings or anything like that.

Well, unsprung weight is only second worst. Rotating, unsprung weight takes the #1 spot, which is what the rotors fall under. Although, on a 2800lb+ car, I'm not convinced 2 lbs is going to make any difference.

i'm going to get big reds in the future and did some research before getting transferred but it has been put on the back burner. did you try pricing w/ chris white? if i remember correctly his price was competitive w/ your "starting" price. i've purchased stuff off of him before and he definatly is "stand up" in my book. my play money is all tied up right now (figures when all these good group buys are going on!) but i maybe interested if the price is right.

You wouldnt do the rear. Some have swapped the front to rear but that is really too much rear bias IIRC. You would probably need to have the rear powder coated to match the front, if you cared about looks.
