What to do with a Museum quality 695 mile 944
Not fishing for a sale, but truly interested in opinions around what to do with an one owner, (actual) 695 mile, 1985.5 944 that is museum quality. I am sure this thread will solicit comments such as 'just drive it', that is not realistic (at least for me) and so I am thinking through various options;
1) Use it as a "Cars and Coffee" queen
2) Show it at the Porsche N.A. in Atlanta (Tried contacting them and did not hear back, though I understand they charge a storage fee)
3) Leave it in the climate controlled garage
4) Donate it for charity
5) Enter in the Councours de Elegance (though given it is not a limited production Ferrari or 911 would they simply laugh at the idea?)
6) Etc.
Note: overpaid on a BaT (Bringatrailer) auction, but could not pass up owning such a rare specimen.
Appreciate your comments and thoughts..

Not convinced you overpaid for it at BaT. I was intent on buying it, but the bidding at the end quickly got out of my comfort zone. In retrospect, my comfort zone should have been readjusted.
If I had gotten it my plan was to admire it, keep it looking and functioning great and drive it a few hundred miles a year. I bought my first 944 (with 3600+ miles on it) at BaT and have found that it's a great car to drive. Really, if it gets up to 1600 or 2000 miles on it over the next several years, no one will say they wish they had gotten it with 700 miles on it.
Meanwhile, please add me to the list of people you'll call when it's time to sell, or consider putting it back in a public forum like BaT. Congrats on the purchase.

I agree with AlfaGTA, whether it is 800 or 8000, it is a beautiful and extremely low mile example. It would be a shame if it sat and didn't get driven. No one would suggest using it as a daily driver, but enjoy it! You won't regret it.

My humble opinion: With so few miles, the car should remain as a showcase and have every component/assembly/system photographed in great detail. You could even assemble an illustrated judging manual for those interested in bringing their cars to that level (I'd gladly buy one). There are still many cars in nice shape out there so you could always pick one up to drive. It will only be that original once. Good luck with your decision!

With a car with that low in mileage, you're pretty much stuck with never being able to drive it.
Best thing to do is to put it in a trailer and take it around to car shows so that others may get to enjoy looking at it.

Assemble a small team of Porsche enthusiasts ( could be just you and your spouse, or brother, or child, then become familiar with the PCA Concours rules and show dates both in your Club region and in PCA Nationals, and clean it, trailer it, and compete.
You will meet some of the most rewarding to know individuals, willing to know your car and provide pointers. This car IS Legend. It deserves a good go of it, exposing it to the world.
Congratulations on becoming the new caretaker.

Garnet is a rather well known car by now, thanks to Panorama and such. The original owner enjoyed showing it, but now that he's passed this old girl deserves to stretch her legs a bit.
Drive it, enjoy it, as these were made to be enjoyed. Keep it pristine, though, and show it off when you can.
