anyone ever tried an MFactory diff?

buddy of mine just put one in his GTI and loves it...

looks like they have sales going on sometimes, so he fetched it for 600 bucks....

Doesn't look to be an actual LSD, but a tq biasing diff. Could work fine potentially for street, but prob doesn't increase stability under braking in a track scenario.
